Message from JCA president

It is my honor to serve you as the president of JCA for 2016-2018. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the previous JCA presidents, Vice-presidents, and Volunteers for their service to our community. The torch has now passed to us. We must continue the good work and look forward to the new accomplishments in the coming years

Our focus this year is to empower and encourage our youth to participate in civic engagement and foster their confidence through service to the community. We are committed to provide platforms to our youth to improve their leadership and communication skills. We established two new programs: 1.Khloee Guo led fund-raising programme for Scholarship Fund as well as identifying and recognizing outstanding community leaders and excellent senior high school students. We will provide scholarships to the financially disadvantaged children from the communities other than JCA community to study Chinese in the Chinese School. We will also provide Scholarships to our outstanding students who demonstrate leadership and academic excellence and to those students who has financial difficulties. 2. Youth Program led by Tim Deng – responsible for encouraging our young people to become confident and well-rounded students above and beyond academic excellence through service to the community at large.

In order to accomplish these goals, we will need the help of dedicated volunteers, sponsors, board members, officers and staff, such as yourself. Therefore, I would like to invite you to participate in our events such as the first fund-raising event “Black-tie Party”, the “Annual Chinese New Year Gala”, the “World of Nations”, and other activities in whatever capacity you are able, and help us to create a positive, lasting impact in Jacksonville communities.

Sincerely,
Wen Raiti, President
Jacksonville Chinese Association
