In the afternoon of May 12th, a 8.0-magnitude earthquake hit Wenchuan, Sichuan. The death toll has reached 69,172(374,159 injured and 17,420 still missing)
according to CCTV reports on June 18, 2008 各地伤亡汇总. The survivors are in desperate need for medical attention, shelter, food, and water. Overseas Chinese everywhere are reaching out to the victims. Chinese Americans in Florida equally feel the pain and loss of their countrymen. Jacksonville Chinese Association (JCA) urges its members and all sympathetic people Chinese or American to send donations to help China! Please feel free to choose the most comfortable way you like or any of the three ways below. If you choose the option 1, please make your check payable to "JCA for China Earthquake Relief Fund.". JCA provides two options to make donations to China Earthquake Victims. We will announce your names on JCA web site, unless otherwise specified. A donation receipt from JCA will be provided and you may use it for your tax deduction. JCA will send all China Earthquake Relief donation raised to China Red Cross or direct China Earthquake relief work.
Option 1: Write a check payable to JCA , put a note for China Earthquake Relief Fund and mail it to our Fundraising Chair, James Yin's address as this:
